March 9, 2008 - Whew!
The last two weeks have been a whirlwind of activity and visits. It was good to see family and friends but I think I will sleep soundly tonight. No more stressing about how messy the house it from here on out. I have learned that our family and friends don't really care if there's a mess about, as long as they have clean sheets, towels and toilet. All the rest is just life. Good lesson there.
I thought I would share pics of the batts I carded up at the carding party last Sunday at Knitch. Lighting for pictures was horrible until today. This first batt represents the process of me grabbing bits off the pile on the table and just letting go:

I'm not what you would call a "glitzy" girl, but the bling just makes me smile. Wanna close up?

Bling!
Then, on my second color combo, I called in my consultants, Doug and Steve. They were quite helpful as I have no color confidence when it comes to combining things. HockeyDad is my color advisor but he wasn't there. I think my homies did an excellent job helping me out.

I'm hoping to get enough yardage out of this to make some lovely little lacy thing. Thanks guys! Between the two color combinations, I have 3 ounces of fiber to spin.
I will post pics of my spinning progress on the Shetland and Corriedale I'm working on. This afternoon, after we do some running around, it's wool washing time!
Speaking of wool, Jen's been in a fleury (ha! get it?) of lambing this weekend, and it appears lamb #3 has just made her entrance! Ahh, spring is just around the corner!

Aughhhhhhhh! Finally and I do mean FINALLY got my guy to go by Knitch for a every quick visit today. I thought you'd be there since it was Sunday. He, of course, was quite taken with the carding and spinning wheel near the window upstairs. Well those and the yarn winders downstairs. Told him I'd tell Kim he'd make yarn cakes for her. So strange!
